“Three helicopters are purchased and will be delivered to Georgia gradually. The agreement was signed last year, and we are waiting for their supply,” said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
According to the Speaker, all relevant agencies fulfilled their rescue mission. He said the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, Temur Mghebrishvili, had already explained the details of rescue efforts and the use of helicopters and drones with thermal sensors at a briefing on August 10.
Shalva Ppuashvili described the question “Why helicopters were not purchased from 2015 till now?” as “an attempt to link the disaster issue with manipulation.”
“If you are interested in if we have helicopters in the country, you saw them with your own eyes that they worked at the disaster zone. Linking the issue to the disaster is absolute manipulation,” he said.
