Speaker says every citizen must contribute to strengthening Georgian Army
“Our defence forces have repeatedly demonstrated their loyalty to the motherland through both words and actions. As a result, you have earned the trust, hope, love, and respect of the people, which will endure forever,” declared Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, at the graduation ceremony for National Defense Academy students.
Addressing the graduates, the Speaker noted that they were “honoured” to have “greater opportunities to safeguard the country’s security and peaceful future.”
According to Papuashvili, strengthening the Georgian army is a responsibility that all citizens share.
“Year after year, we increase the Defence Ministry’s budget, enhance our defence capabilities, improve our army’s equipment, and provide soldiers with more educational opportunities. The government and parliament will spare no effort to foster peaceful development of the country on one hand, and on the other, ensure the army is well-prepared and adequately equipped,” he stated.
Papuashvili expressed his gratitude to the graduates and their families.
“You exemplify love and loyalty to the motherland. Thank you for your patriotism and for raising such exemplary children. Once again, congratulations on your commission as Georgian officers. I wish you peace, for no one understands the value of peace better than those who stand guard over it,” he concluded.
