Speaker: Saakashvili met EU officials before secret entry into Georgia

“Mikheil Saakashvili’s covert entry into Georgia was planned and executed by Ukrainian military intelligence,” stated the Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, on social media.

According to Papuashvili, Saakashvili had been in Brussels just days before his return to Georgia, where he met with representatives from the European Commission and the European Parliament.

“This occurred after he had already been sentenced to six years in prison for the murder of Girgvliani and the beating of Gelashvili,” Papuashvili wrote.

Mikheil Saakashvili was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for the case of illegal border crossing, and with the totality of sentences, his term was set at 12 years and six months.
