Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate on Thursday.
According to the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili highlighted the notable progress in implementing the EC’s 12 recommendations. He expressed optimism that Georgia would be granted the status of EU candidate by the year’s end.
The French Senate President reiterated France’s steadfast support for Georgia on its path towards European integration. In his remarks, Larche emphasized Georgia’s aspirations to join the North Atlantic Alliance, recognizing the nation’s substantial contributions to regional security and global stability.
Papuashvili also discussed Georgia’s economic and political landscape, providing an overview of the country’s current situation.
The meeting focused on the already robust partnership between Georgia and France, with both parties expressing their commitment to further enhancing the longstanding historical and cultural cooperation.
