The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić-Radman.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Georgia-Croatia diplomatic relations. The meeting favourably viewed Georgia’s establishment of a diplomatic representation in Croatia.
Shalva Papuashvili discussed Georgia’s progress in implementing EC’s 12 recommendations, emphasising the necessity of Croatia’s support and experience sharing.
“Currently, we need your support, encouragement, and advice. Taking into account the European Commission’s recent report, we anticipate candidate status by the end of 2023,” declared the Speaker.
“As little countries with a similar history of defending themselves against aggressors, we understand each other extremely well. Croatia firmly supports Georgia’s European ambitions. Georgia deserves candidate status,” Gordan Radman said.
The parties emphasised their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Croatia’s Foreign Minister is on his first official visit to Georgia.
