Speaker: Our efforts keep Georgia free from constant wars and geopolitical tools
At an election campaign event in Zugdidi, Shalva Papuashvili, a member of the political council of Georgian Dream and the parliament Speaker, announced that their unified efforts have halved unemployment and reduced poverty by three times, helping nearly half a million people escape poverty.
Papuashvili highlighted the ruling party’s success across various sectors, crediting their refusal to engage in foreign geopolitical games and prioritizing the interests of the Georgian people.
“By standing together, we halved unemployment and reduced poverty by three times, resulting in almost half a million people overcoming poverty. We lead in economic growth rates, both in the region and across Europe, with a tripled economy, budget, and average salary. With the rule of law, a lack of corruption, and economic freedom, we are not only the number one state in the region; we also outpace all EU candidate countries and, in some cases, even EU members,” he stated.
Papuashvili emphasized that these achievements were made possible through a focus on the needs of the citizens rather than external pressures.
“We built this Georgia in just a few years, removing it from the cycle of constant wars and not allowing it to become a tool for others’ geopolitical agendas. We revived the ideals of faith, tradition, homeland, sovereignty, and national interest—values our parents aspired to,” he concluded.
