“No matter how much the opposition and biased local observers try to exaggerate and portray the issues, the OSCE/ODIHR report said that the pre-election campaign is held in a peaceful environment,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in Gurjaani, the eastern Kakheti region.
According to the Speaker, the interim report does not mention the use of administrative resources, any violence or other claims on the part of the ruling party.
“Two weeks are left before the elections, the period up to two weeks is summed up. The report says that there is a calm environment with no use of administrative resources, violence, or other claims that the opposition usually has. The report underscores that the process is held in a peaceful environment,” Papuashvili said.
On October 11, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) published an interim report on the pre-election environment in Georgia. The report covers the period from September 11 to October 9.
