Speaker: Opposition's main goal to come into power, be puppet regime ruled by foreign forces
“The main goal, which the opposition has had for the last 12 years, is to come into power, and continue acting as they did before 2012, be a puppet regime, which is ruled by foreign political forces,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili.
According to the Speaker, the opposition altered the rhetoric as people saw that the opposition was dragging the country into a war.
“This is our history of the last 12 years, that they tried to make disorder in the country, put pressure on the government, and every time they attempted to come to power with their propaganda and misinformation, using the non-governmental sector, the media.
“They quit studios, Facebook pages and met people but received the response that the Georgian people were disturbed with what they had seen for the last 2 years when they headed the country directly into the war.
They changed rhetoric likely at the recommendation of foreign curators to mislead the population as if they were in favor of peace and welfare while they tried to undermine peace and economic development. This is the reason for their lustration, as we observe. They see that people do not trust them because they guess and see what these people were doing,” he said.
