The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the President of the Austrian Federal Council, Claudia Arpa.
Papuashvili expressed appreciation for the positive dynamics in Georgian-Austrian relations, thanked Austria for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity, and the long-term involvement of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in Georgia.
Speaker welcomed the European Commission’s recommendation for Georgia’s candidate status. He expressed hope that the European Council will officially grant Georgia candidate status in December. He hoped for Austria’s support in this regard.
The discussions covered Georgia’s progress in economic and democratic development, the upcoming 2024 elections, and joint efforts to promote democracy awareness among young people.
