Speaker: Incident at Europe Day event demonstrates dangers of irresponsible donor funding

“The fact that an EU-funded person attacks a journalist during the Europe Day event organised by the EU clearly demonstrates the dangers of irresponsible donor funding,” the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili wrote on Facebook.

According to Imedi TV, during the Europe Day celebration at Expo Georgia, their camera crew was obstructed while performing their duties.

The TV company claims that while a journalist was conducting an interview, Elene Khoshtaria deliberately interfered, preventing the journalist from working and not allowing the respondent to speak.

Imedi also reports that Tamar Chergoleishvili, one of the founders of the Federalists movement, similarly interfered.
