Speaker: Happy Europe Day! Georgia will soon join a union of shared values that promotes progress in Europe
“Happy Europe Day! I believe that Georgia will soon join the union formed by shared values,” wrote Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Parliament Speaker, on social media.
Papuashvili emphasized that European unity is rooted in a union of sovereign countries, asserting that the union of free states holds the strength to overcome evil.
“The devastating consequences of World War II inspired the idea of European unification, and the harsh lessons of history compelled leading European countries to unite to prevent future wars and maintain peace.
Today, the European Union consists of 27 countries dedicated to ensuring peace and prosperity for the European people.
European unity is based on a coalition of sovereign states because the union of free nations possesses the strength to defeat evil.
Happy Europe Day! I believe Georgia will soon join the union formed by shared values, where each country with its identity and historical experience contributes to promoting peace and progress in Europe,” Papuashvili wrote.
