Speaker: Georgia leads in region, Europe with economic growth

“Since the day of the Georgian Dream’s coming to power, we have halved unemployment, reduced poverty by three times, we are leaders with the pace of economic growth not only in the region but throughout Europe,” Shalva Papuashvili, Georgian Parliament Speaker wrote on Facebook.

According to the Speaker, the progress explains the population’s support for the ruling party in local and national elections for the last 12 years.

Shalva Papuashvili believes the GD party will secure a majority of votes in the October 26 parliamentary elections.

“Along with the impressive results in the direction of democratic governance, we are proud of the mentioned economic achievements, which are the main prerequisites for the peaceful development of our society and progress of Georgia,” he said.
