Speaker: False information in EP resolutions undermines its credibility
Unfortunately, the European Parliament’s resolutions have turned into a source of false information, undermining trust in them, said Georgia’s Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday.
“It is the norm in a civilized society to punish crime,” he added.
“If someone tries to present this norm as a vengeance, he is unaware of what the rule of law entails. We must keep in mind that politicians are involved in this issue when considering EP resolutions. It’s a deliberate attempt to label black as white.
Society and the government are strong because we understand that black is black and cannot be turned white via millions of dollars in contracts or other ways. The victims of Mikheil Saakashvili do not deserve the approach that some international supporters have,” Speaker Papuashvili remarked.
As he said, the United National Movement’s dilemma has always been that its supporters have always backed Saakashvili.
“They will never get out of this situation,” he added.
