Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili voiced concern over Timothy Blauvelt, head of the American Council, being involved in what he called a “campaign of hatred” against politicians and their children. This follows an incident at Munich airport involving Georgian Dream MP Davit Matikashvili, which Blauvelt filmed and shared.
“It is alarming that a donor is part of a campaign targeting politicians and their minor children. It is even more concerning that the American Council, led by Timothy Blauvelt, operates within the educational sector. Avoiding accountability is not a solution. As Parliament Speaker, I expect an apology from him to MP Davit Matikashvili and his family,” Papuashvili wrote on social media.
