The 22nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) will be held in Spain in 2024.
Spain’s national public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) will host for the first time in the competition’s history after placing second in Nice last year – a Contest won by France’s Zoe Clauzure singing Coeur.
France Télévisions decided to hand over the organization of the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest do not require the winning broadcaster to host the following year, as in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Host City and dates for the 2024 Contest will be announced in due course. Spain won the second edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004.
“Twenty years after their Junior Eurovision Song Contest win, we’re thrilled to finally bring the Contest to Spain. We’re grateful to RTVE for accepting to host the 22nd edition of the competition which gives young artists from across Europe an incredible platform to showcase their talent. We’re very much looking forward to the fiesta that awaits in Spain later this year!” said Martin Österdahl, the Junior Eurovision Executive Supervisor.
