Salome Zourabichvili proposes to create resistance platform

Former President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili on Monday highlighted “the need for a resistance platform with the participation of the pro-European political spectrum.”

At the ongoing rally on Rustaveli Avenue, she noted that “to achieve the goal, in addition to street protests, there must be a political platform.”

Zourabichvili believes “Members of the platform must set aside their political incompatibilities and fight together.”

“This platform is open to all pro-European parties and groups willing to put aside political differences and completely support the protest’s two primary goals: fresh, fair elections and the release of prisoners of conscience.

To achieve these goals, the resistance platform agrees to coordinate political positions to expose and confront the regime and its actions in a coordinated and effective manner; to resist the regime’s attempt to destroy all prospects for Georgia’s development and its European future,” she stated.
