Salome Samadashvili: If we assume chance to win elections, then neither Belarusization occur nor elections were rigged
“One day we write Georgia has undergone Belarusization, yet the next day we lament that propaganda failed to counter the narrative of war fears. If we accept there was a chance of electoral victory, then neither Belarusization has occurred nor were the elections falsified,” wrote Salome Samadashvili, a leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, on social media.
“If the elections were falsified,” she continued, “what significance do our electoral messages carry? What weight will our words to the people hold in the future?”
“Electoral falsification has rendered voting meaningless in Georgia. Debating whether we could have better-countered war propaganda or other issues would hardly make a difference now. Only one conversation matters today – how to create conditions that prevent an illegitimate government from maintaining power. All other discussions, I fear, have become futile in this context,” Samadashvili concluded.
