Saakashvili calls for larger crowds and better organization, claims 'rally dispersal was anticipated'
“The dispersal of today’s rally was anticipated. An excessive police presence was deployed solely to intimidate,” wrote Georgia’s imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili on social media.
In his message, Saakashvili urged for improved organization and larger turnout at future events.
“The European Union has taken an unprecedented step by redirecting funds originally allocated to the government toward civil society.
The outcome now depends on the organization and determination of the Georgian people, and I am confident we will succeed!” Saakashvili asserted.
