Chairman of Georgian Parliament Kakha Kuchava cast his ballot in the municipal runoffs, saying he voted for the Georgian Dream’s Tbilisi Mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze and is confident in his victory.
“I voted for Kakha Kaladze; I believe this candidate has no alternative taking into account the projects carried out in Tbilisi for the last four years and Kaladze’s plans for the next four years,” Kuchava said.
Culture Minister Tea Tsulukiani called on voters to go to the polls and vote for the GD candidates to admit no return of the United National Movement into power and “dark past.”
“There is progress and prospect, stability and peace on one side, and plans for disorder and bloodshed on the other. Therefore, the choice is simple,” Tsulukiani stated.
GD Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze, on his part, reiterated voters have to differentiate between chaos and turmoil, stability and development. “There is only one choice to make,” he said.
Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder and former chairman of the Georgian Dream (GD) party, showed up at the polling place together with his wife. Ivanishvili refrained from any remarks for the media.
