It is very gratifying that the case of Davit Gareja has moved to a new stage, – Regent of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Reverend Shio said.

Reverend Shio hopes that the two monasteries of Davit Gareja – Udabno and Chichkhituri – will be included in the borders of Georgia.

“I can not comment on this issue. Only thing I can say, it’s very gratifying that this case has moved to a new stage. Important materials have been found and it is hoped that these two monasteries of Davit Gareja will finally be included in the Georgian border, as it was in history”, – Reverend Shio told reporters.
