The Pardon Commission may be expanded and the representative of the Ministry of Penitentiary, Probation and Legal Assistance may be included in it – Kakha Kakhishvili, Minister of Penitentiary, Probation and Legal Assistance made the regarding statement after the meeting with the President and the members of the commission.
In addition, according to Kakhishvili, during the meeting it was also mentioned that in case of violent crimes, the members of the commission will have opportunity to interview the prisoner in the correctional facility.
The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and the members of the Pardon Commission has held a meeting with Kakha Kakhishvili, Minister of Penitentiary, Probation and Legal Assistance today. Public Defender Nino Lomjaria also attended the meeting. Issues related to the pardon mechanism and the pardoning commission were discussed during the meeting.
