Public Defender’s Office of Georgia has released a statement regarding yesterday’s development on Rustaveli Avenue.
“The Public Defender of Georgia and her representatives had been monitoring the events developed on Rustaveli Avenue all night long. Employees of the Office visited the detained demonstrators in police stations, some of which accused law enforcers of abuse of power.
Representatives of the Public Defender are actively studying each incident that took place during the rally. They are also working to establish the location of the detained and missing persons. In addition, they will observe trials and visit the injured at hospitals.
The Public Defender will later make legal assessment of the events developed on Rustaveli Avenue.
