Public Defender: We should show EU that democratic reforms agenda returns to Georgian politics

Georgian Public Defender Nino Lomjaria believes “we should seize every opportunity to show the European Union that the democratic reforms agenda is back to Georgian politics.”

“And we are all ready to fight for democratic changes,” she went on, albeit, Lomjaria claims to be “sceptical” because of the “statements and decisions we see, but I think we should exploit all the possibilities.”

The Ombudswoman says the European Union needs to see not only discussions but the implementation of specific reforms.

“They [EU] expect the major reforms on important issues like justice, anti-corruption, law enforcement agencies, elections will follow this process,” she asserted.
