Public Defender says arrested Droa leader rejects to meet his Office representative
Georgian Public Defender Levan Ioseliani on Sunday said the arrested leader of Droa opposition party, Elene Khoshtaria, refused to meet with his Office representative who visited those being apprehended for administrative offenses during a protest outside Kvareli Lake Resort on Saturday.
The police detained around 17 protesters who gathered at the resort after Mtavari Arkhi channel and Elene Khoshtaria on Friday alleged that the daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and her husband were staying in Kvareli Lake Resort and the hotel would be hosting the wedding party of Lavrov’s family members.
Ioseliani said, “Within our rights, we do our best to protect the rights of detained people.”
