Public Defender publishes invited experts' conclusion on ex-president's health
The Georgian Public Defender’s Office published the medical experts’ conclusions regarding ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili’s health following the visit to the Vivamed Clinic on April 2.
According to the findings, despite the fact that the experts were not involved in the patient’s medical treatment process and were unable to communicate with the physician since it was a weekend, they assessed the patient and reached the following conclusions:
Mikheil Saakashvili suffers from a severe type of sarcopenia (a disorder characterized by loss of skeletal muscle mass and function);
He can hardly move, his blood pressure fluctuates, causing coordination problems, and his mental abilities have deteriorated.
The ex-president has dropped a substantial amount of weight (he now weighs 52-53 kg), which might lead to falls and unhealed bone fractures.
The specialists also assessed that the patient’s health was on the edge of serious complications, with a high likelihood of fatalities.
