Public Defender congratulates Georgian citizens on Constitution Day
Georgian Public Defender Levan Ioseliani congratulated Georgian citizens on Constitution Day.
“This supreme law protects and regulates the entire society, legal rights of its every member, defines fundamental norms for the country’s democratic development, economic freedom and for the establishment and building of a social and legal state.
Chapter Two of the Georgian Constitution reviews fundamental human rights based on which the Public Defender of Georgia monitors and supervises the protection of human rights and freedoms across Georgia’s territory, reveals its violation facts, and contributes to the restoration of rights.
The Georgian Parliament adopted the Constitution on August 24, 1995, based on the historic-legal heritage of the 1921 Constitution,” reads the statement published by the Public Defender’s Office.
