Protest with demand of pension increase

A protest was held outside the parliament building in Tbilisi earlier this afternoon with demand of pension increase. Protesters demanded increase of pension up to 250 GEL.

Tamar Iarajuli, Director of Democratic Development Center claimed that hunger was threatening pensioners if their pension was not equalized with the amount of living minimum.

She also stressed on the conditions of people with limited physical capabilities who lacked finances for medical treatment.

Protest participants plan to organize large-scale rallies if there is no reaction from the parliament.
