Activists of ‘Yellow Vests’ movement are holding a protest in Paris despite a ban on protesting along the Champs-Elysees, which was announced by French Prime Minister Edouard Phillippe after violence erupted last weekend.
Protesters demand increase of salaries and pensions as well as a reconsideration of tax policy. The Special Task Units are mobilized in Paris.
On Saturday, March 16, ‘Yellow Vest’ protests hit their 18th week of nationwide demonstrations and 60 people, including 17 police officers, were injured when protesters smashed up and burned shops on the Champs-Elysees.
