Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia is meeting with representatives of medical clinics together with Ekaterine Tikaradze, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
The meeting is being held at the Palace of Ceremonies and representatives of about 100 medical institutions are attending it. The meeting is closed for the media.
Discussions are held over the Decree #520 of the Georgian government and the regulations activated starting November 21, that require setting of equal tariffs from medical institutions which are involved in the state medical insurance program.
Heads of the clinics demand that the regulations are postponed for at least 6 months. They claim that the new regulations caused problems both for clinics and patients and that carrying out of planned surgeries face the threat to be suspended.
Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Ivane Machavariani, Minister of Finance are also taking part in the meeting.
