Ekaterine Tikaradze, Health Minister, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia, healthcare expert Akaki Zoidze and Silviu Domente, WHO Country Office in Georgia, attended the primary healthcare reform action plan’s presentation at the Georgian Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs.
The reform aims to improve diagnostics, medication, prevention and qualification of physicians. The Georgian Health Ministry worked on the reform together with international partners. The improved and high-quality health services will be accessible from June 1.
“This reform will be of real assistance to patients with chronic diseases aimed at lifting financial obstacles. Primary health care that meets the needs of the target population will be equally accessible to the urban and rural population,” Akaki Zoidze claimed.
