President Zourabichvili releases pre-election video address

President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili released a video address on social media ahead of the elections.

Salome Zourabichvili urges the population to go to the polls and notes that it’s up to the people to decide what tomorrow’s Georgia will be like.

“My fellow citizens, first and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you to everyone standing in line today, travelling to your respective regions to vote. Despite the challenges you face—whether it be lack of transportation or the long distances required—you remain committed to casting your vote for Georgia.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our fellow citizens in the diaspora and those living abroad. You have fought, and continue to fight, for your right to be heard, and your voices will resonate tomorrow. This is of paramount importance.

I want to specifically acknowledge and thank those who are in Israel and have worked tirelessly to establish a polling station during this difficult time. Some areas could not secure polling stations, and many of you have been deprived of your rights by living far from these sites. However, I am hopeful that these issues will be addressed.

I also want to express my gratitude in advance to the young people who are actively mobilizing and making their presence felt today. Tomorrow, many of you will cast your votes for your chosen party for the very first time. The most critical aspect of this process is that everyone makes their choice based on their own beliefs, desires, and will. No one can force you to vote a certain way, and no one will know how you voted. Rest assured, there will be no repercussions from either side. This is my promise as your president.

I urge you to go to the polls without fear. It is crucial that the future of this country is shaped by your votes. No one should stay home. It is up to you to decide what tomorrow’s Georgia will look like,” stated Salome Zourabichvili.
