The arrival of the President of the European Council in Georgia means that the European Union has not gone anywhere, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said after a face-to-face meeting with the European Council President Charles Michel.
According to her, it is important for the European Union that Georgia continues its European and democratic path and nothing can stop it.
“I would like to thank the European Council President Charles Michel for coming here. I recall my visit to Brussels two months ago, which was very important as my first post-Covid visit and we had a very good conversation even then. The arrival of the President in Georgia today means that the European Union has not gone anywhere, it is here and it is important for the European Union that Georgia continues its European and democratic path and nothing can stop it. This is important as never before because the situation in this region has changed and Georgia needs to be further strengthened as an island of democracy,” Salome Zourabischvili said.
President of the European Council Charles Michel will hold official meetings today during his visit to Georgia.
