Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court of Georgia, seeking to have the final results of the October 26 parliamentary elections declared unconstitutional.
According to the Presidential Administration, the lawsuit was submitted to the Court in Batumi by the President’s representative, Eka Beselia.
During a briefing on November 18, President Zourabichvili expressed her concerns that the elections were conducted with violations of the principles of vote secrecy and universality.
She noted that, while she lacks trust in the independence of the Constitutional Court, it is essential to “exhaust all local judicial mechanisms and ways.”
