President suggests banning political parties' activities, contradicting Constitution
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Thursday said the activities of all political parties contradicting the Constitution principles, “the path chosen by our country,” should be deemed unconstitutional and be banned.
In her statement, the President stressed that MPs making statements against Constitution was “alarming.”
“The country’s supreme law obliges the constitutional bodies to take all measures to ensure Georgia’s full integration into the European Union.
The Georgian Constitution declares that its ultimate objective is full integration into the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization,” reads the statement.
