President says votes in support of 4 Georgian Charter signatory parties to lead Georgia to Europe
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said during the briefing at the Orbeliani Presidental Palace that she was optimistic one week ahead of the October 26 parliamentary elections since the 4 main parties, who signed the Georgian Charter remained committed to the plan, which would guarantee Georgia’s return to the European path.
The president urged Georgian people to vote in support of any of the four Georgian Charter signatory parties, saying their vote would “bring Georgia closer to Europe, without swerving the path.”
The President said the 26 October 26 elections will “end the single-party rule and polarization” in Georgia and would guarantee peace and education.
According to President Salome Zourabichvili, she met EU Ambassador Paweł Herczyński on Saturday who reconfirmed that as soon as Georgian voters expressed their choice freely, the EU would reactivate all mechanisms to resume Georgia’s suspended EU integration. The President also remarked that European partners stand with the Georgian people.

President Salome Zourabichvili remarked that there are attempts of menacing, nihilism but urged people not to fear to participate in the October 20 Freedom March and in the October 26 elections.
“Do not fear because you are on the correct way. We will reach success with the way, which is the only peaceful way and this is elections. The victory must be vivid, without doubts. Do not fear either tomorrow or in one week to bring your voice where Georgia’s future, common future will be decided,” she said.
Freedom March will be held on October 20 at Freedom Square in Tbilisi. Supporters of Georgia’s European future will convene at 5 different locations.
