Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili pardoned prisoners for New Year. According to Zviad Koridze, Chairman of Pardoning Commission, President pardoned 187 inmates. It became known during the briefing held at Presidential Administration that there are 12 women and 3 juveniles among the pardoned prisoners.
The 123 inmates will have left penitentiary facilities by the end of today including 8 women, 1 – juvenile. The 64 prisoners were reduced prison terms including 4 women and 2 juveniles.
The Pardoning Commission discussed 1182 prisoners’ cases from December 14 to December 24, 2017.
