President on GD's campaign event: 'Tomorrow we see buses and people brought in by all means
“Public servants are under immense pressure today. Tomorrow, we will see their buses and people brought in through various means,” President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili commented on the pre-election meeting planned by the Georgian Dream party in Tbilisi on October 23.
She noted that this is nothing new, as previous regimes also employed these methods.
“Public servants are under immense pressure today. Tomorrow we will see their buses and people brought in through various means. We are prepared for this. We already know how this is organized. This is nothing new, as previous regimes also used these tactics, but it’s time to leave public servants alone, let them do their jobs, and ensure they feel protected. I will consider this my duty as long as I am in the office and wherever I am.
As the President, I am directly responsible for protecting, first and foremost, the army, the police, and also public servants. After all, I was a public servant myself in the past, and I know what it means and how much depends on them for the country to maintain stability and preserve that administrative memory which builds the state,” Zourabichvili declared.
