President of Ukraine: Time has come for Ukraine and Georgia to obtain MAP from NATO
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a phone conversation with President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili.
According to the Ukrainian president’s press service, the two presidents discussed the escalation of tension in Donbas, the latest military buildup at Ukraine’s border and the dangerous trend towards an increase in the number of ceasefire violations and the number of killed soldiers.
Zelensky thanked Salome Zourabichvili for Georgia’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
Zourabichvili stressed that Ukraine and Georgia have to support each other. Presidents emphasized the importance of dialogue and solidarity. They discussed practical steps by Ukraine and Georgia in the context of further deepening relations with NATO.
“Indeed, the time has come for concrete proposals for Ukraine and Georgia to obtain the NATO Membership Action Plan and a plan to join the European Union. Consolidation of efforts and solidarity is crucial today,” Zelensky said.
