Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met US Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Mike Turner at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace.
President Zourabichvili spoke about the political situation in Georgia, the October 26 parliamentary elections, ongoing developments in occupied regions and the Black Sea region’s security.
According to the President’s administration, the Senator and Congressman reconfirmed the unwavering support of the US for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and European integration aspirations.
“They remarked that they specially arrived in Georgia and this was not a regional visit – to demonstrate and reconfirm that they assign great significance and support Georgia’s democratic future and development.
They underscored that Georgia and the Georgian people had and would have bipartisan support from the US which means the support of the entire country. They highly assessed the President’s effort on Georgia’s European integration path.
