President intends to name provisional administration, so-called technical government, before elections
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili announced at the briefing that she would name the provisional administration, the so-called technical government, “to be established in the transition period” before the elections.
“I plan to present the technical government, a provisional administration, which will be responsible for the fulfilment of the Georgian Charter and lead Georgia forward where we have to arrive, at the European Gate. I believe this has to be done before the elections for society to know who these people are,” she said.
President Zourabichvili re-confirmed that she had told the signatory political parties that she planned to name the technical government she had already selected, and noted that the provisional administration would be staffed by non-politicians.
The President also remarked that she had reviewed the Georgian Charter, which aimed to return Georgia to the European path and guarantee its independence and progress, with European leaders, who pledged to help Georgia pace up Georgia’s EU integration.
Salome Zourabichvili underscored that the Charter is a response to society’s demands and “no interpretations or speculations should be left” over any issue.
