President: I do not believe opposition agrees on single prime ministerial candidate, but they can agree on technical gov't
“No one shall promise you that there will be miracle education reform or miracle health reform; government and parliament with limited mandates will have neither the time nor the opportunity [to do so],” Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili stated on Monday.
When asked if the opposition parties’ prime ministerial candidate should be a unified one, Salome Zourabichvili stated that she did not believe the opposition parties could agree on a single prime ministerial candidate who would be a political figure.
“Instead, I am sure that there may be an agreement on a single technical government with a limited mandate just like the parliament, which will have an obligation to fulfill the [Georgian] Charter. The government will also have a limited mandate to do everything to bring Georgia back to the path to restore relations with our partners,” Salome Zourabichvili said.
When asked if the signatories to the Georgian Charter have reached an agreement on technical government, the President said: “No, they are wrestling.”
