President honours police leadership with Order of Honour

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, upon the joint nomination of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, awarded the Order of Honour to Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vakhtang Gomelauri, along with other senior police officials.

During a ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the State Award of Georgia was presented to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in recognition of their significant contributions to strengthening law and order.

President Kavelashvili expressed his heartfelt gratitude to each police officer for their unwavering service to the country, emphasizing that a robust Georgian police force is emblematic of a strong state.

“The service each police officer provides to our country is invaluable. Your tireless work, vigilance, and dedication lay the foundation for a brighter future for our children. Peace, order, and stability are essential for the prosperity of any state. They form the bedrock of the country’s development, economic progress, social well-being, quality education, and the effective functioning and accessibility of public services.

This is precisely why those who wish harm to our country seek to disrupt order and stability, thereby undermining our very statehood. I am confident that such attempts will continue to fail, just as they have in the past. No one will be able to weaken the resolve of the Georgian people to build a strong state rooted in national interests, where our history, culture, faith, family values, and national identity are safeguarded,” stated the President.
