“We are here today to honor the bravest warriors, the heroes of Shindisi, who have left modern Georgia the ultimate example of heroism – showing what it means to be a Georgian fighter and a Georgian person. As long as these heroes are remembered, we can all be certain that Georgia will endure forever,” Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said at the memorial honoring those who fell at Shindisi during the August War.

He noted that “the heroes of Shindisi astounded the enemy with their courage.”

“Through such acts of heroism and the deeds of these individuals, we have the assurance that Georgia is immortal,” the President stated.
