President Administration to fund Commission within Bar Association

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Administration of the President of Georgia and the Bar Association.

The aim of the memorandum is to support the activities, which ensures to restore the right to a fair trial, to study the cases of repressed lawyers in 2005-2012 and the cases of convicted persons detained on political grounds on the basis of the resolution # 76, issued on 05.12.2012.

In the framework of the memorandum, the reserve fund of the President of Georgia will finance the work of the Temporary Commission, which has already been created by the Executive Council of the Bar Association.

The memorandum was signed by the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia and the Chair of  Bar Association.

Georgian Dream faction has presented the legislative initiative “Girgvliani Amendments” which aims at eradication of system crime.
