Presence of foreigners and those lacking citizenship, who were unable to leave Georgia due to certain reasons, will not be considered as illegal till June 30
Presence of foreigners and those lacking Georgian citizenship, who were unable to leave Georgia due to certain reasons amid the novel coronavirus outbreak and related imposed restrictions, will not be considered as illegal till June 30 – Georgian government said in a special order.
Based on the order, those foreigners or persons having no Georgian citizenship who were staying legally in Georgia by March 14 of 2020 but failed to leave Georgia’s territory before expiration of the term of their legal stay, are permitted to remain in Georgia will June 30 if the stay is generated by the following circumstances:
- If a country of a person’s citizenship was in high risk zone;
- If a country imposed restrictions on border crossing;
- If a person is in a hospital, quarantine or self-isolation;
- If a person failed to leave Georgia due to cancellation of flights;
The order has been in force since signing.
