Political parties and their candidates are preparing for the second round of local self-governance elections to be held in 1 city and 5 self-governing communities on November 12.

Konstantine Sharashenidze, independent candidate running for post of Mayor in Ozurgeti town of western Guria region claims that the ruling Georgian Dream Party is preparing for elections forging. Sharashenidze presented written material during the briefing and claimed that some manipulations were planned for tomorrow to secure the ruling team’s victory in the elections. Georgian Dream Party denied accusations and described them as defamation and groundless.

Counteraccusations were voiced in Borjomi town where candidates of Patriots’ Alliance Zaza Chachanidze and Georgian Dream’s Levan Lipartia are taking part in the runoff. MPs of Georgian Dream and Irma Inashvili, Leader of Patriots’ Alliance arrived in Borjomi to support their representatives. The difference between them was in 24 votes.

On November 12, the second round of local elections will be held in Kutaisi and self-governing communities – Kazbegi, Khashuri, Borjomi, Ozurgeti and Martvili. According to Central Election Commission (CEC), the second round of the elections will be held in 317 polling stations. The number of registered voters is 328,272.
