The period of a charged person’s keeping in pre-detention by will be considered in total imprisonment term — Corresponding changes will be made into Prisoners Code.

The amendments will be initiated during the bureau sitting of the parliament today. MP Paata Mkheidze initiated the changes.

Based on the explanation provided in the draft project, certain category of charged persons will have different right to leave penitentiary facility temporarily.
