Georgia's participation in Black Sea format and Bucharest Nine discussed during President's visit to Romania
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili claims that she saw unanimous support for Georgia’s European integration path during her visit to Romania.
“Romania is ready to assist us in every direction. They gave us specific help when filling out the EU questionnaire. During the debate on the European perspective and candidacy, Romania was the country that supported Georgia’s presence in the group along with Moldova and Ukraine,” said Salome Zourabichvili.
President stated that the two countries are united in their support for Ukraine.
Zourabichvili noted that large projects’ implementation with Romania depends on security and peace in the Black Sea region.
As President mentioned, she suggested the potential of including Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia in the Three Seas Initiative and NATO Bucharest Nine Group in some form.
“No decision has been taken on these topics yet,” she noted, “but they have stated their readiness to think about it.”
