Polish colleagues fully agree with our treatment tactics, Vivamedi Clinic director says

Zura Chkhaidze, the medical director of Vivamedi Clinic, commented on foreign doctors’ visit to Georgia’s jailed ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Chkhaidze stated that yesterday’s meeting was distinctively collegial compared to previous ones.

“Polish colleagues, including a neurosurgeon, an internal medicine physician, and a toxicologist, visited the clinic. I can unequivocally say that I am very satisfied. It was a truly collegial meeting. They fully agreed with our treatment tactics,” he said.

Zura Chkhaidze mentioned that they agreed with Vivamedi’s studies and recommendations.

“Polish doctors fully supported the additional studies conducted at our clinic. However, Saakashvili previously refused certain procedures, including spinal punctures. The issues related to nutrition were also discussed,” he added.

Regarding Saakashvili’s weight gain, Chkhaidze said his weight had increased. However, he clarified that weight gain is not a determining factor for his transfer to prison.

Chkhaidze emphasized that considering laboratory studies Saakashvili’s overall condition is noteworthy, although all parameters are stable.
