Police detain two Turkish citizens for illegal border crossing

Officers of Border Police detained two citizens of Turkey at Sarpi Border Checkpoint – the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported.

An investigation has established that the detainees illegally crossed the Georgian-Turkish state border by avoiding the BCP control.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal crossing of the state border, article 344, II part, subparagraph A of Criminal Code of Georgia. The detainees face 4-5 years in prison.
